Growing Tips

To ensure the best performance from your honeysuckle, follow these planting and care tips:

• Planting Location:
  Choose a spot in full sun or partial shade. Lonicera ‘Graham Thomas’ thrives in full sun but can also tolerate partial shade. It will produce the best blooms when it receives plenty of sunlight, but the roots should be kept cool, so mulch around the base or plant near other low-growing plants to keep the roots shaded.

• Soil:
  Plant in moist but well-drained, fertile soil. Lonicera ‘Graham Thomas’ prefers slightly acidic to neutral soil but will tolerate a variety of conditions. Ensure the soil drains well to avoid waterlogging.

• Pruning:
  This honeysuckle falls into Pruning Group 3, meaning it requires pruning in late winter or early spring. Cut back the plant hard to encourage fresh growth and improve the overall shape and health of the climber.
